Kanye West Wanted Album Cover Banned By Retailers

In a move to remain controversial for the release of his latest album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, Kanye West decided to release an album cover that would cause a backlash and potentially be banned.
According to cover artist George Condo, West instructed him to create a work of art that would be so offensive that retailers would attempt to censor or ban it.
Retail giant Wal-Mart bit the bait and banned the initial cover, which featured a nude West holding a beer bottle while being straddled by a nude white woman.
Once his goal of censorship had been accomplished, West found another reason to rant by tweeting, “They banned my album cover! Banned in the USA! They don’t want me chilling on the couch with my phoenix!”
He continued tweeting, “So Nirvana can have a naked human being on their cover, but I can’t have a painting of a monster with no arms and a polka dot tail and wings?”
West eventually released four different works of cover art for the album, but this stunt proves that he relishes the moments when he has a chance to be provocative. Even when he’s not making music, West finds a way to get our full and undivided attention. sn this nigga is to real love Mr.West
